King Richard Leeks

King Richard Leek

SKU: KR8449

King Richard Leeks are full-sized leeks with sleek uniform stalks. This variety produces longer white shanks than other varieties. King Richard Leeks can be planted far apart for full-sized leeks or planted closer for tender, baby-sized leeks.

King Richard Leeks have a mild but rich onion flavor. These can be used in roasts, stuffings, soups, or as a side dish. These are incredibly frost tolerant as they can stand up to temperatures as cool as 20º (F). King Richard Leeks can be grown in early spring and again in the fall for a 2nd harvest. Like other leeks, these are ideal for square-foot gardening as you can fit leeks in the corners or raised beds or around other plants in a container.
