Detroit Golden Beet seeds
Golden Detroit Beets are an heirloom variety of beet that has an orange-gold outer skin and bright yellow-gold inner flesh. Unlike red beets, Detroit gold beets won't bleed, and when they are cooked, they turn a more intense gold color. They are excellent for making a standout golden Borcht, for fresh salads, pickling, or juicing.
Golden beets have a flavor slightly different than their red counterparts. Gold beets solve a lot of the opportunities red beets have if you aren't a red beet fan. They have a nuttiness similar to walnuts, and a sweetness reminiscent of apples and apricots. The beet tops are also delicious and taste similar to Swiss chard or rhubarb. They are closely related after all. Detroit golden beets will reach 3" in diameter during harvest time.
