Red Acre Cabbage seeds

SKU: 995497B

Red Acre Cabbage was first introduced in the 1920s, this old heirloom has several impressive qualities that make it a great variety to grow. With the decline of gardeners planting winter crops, this cold weather-loving variety is becoming rare and somewhat endangered.

Brunswick cabbage is an extremely cold hardy cabbage that can be grown during the winter into the early and mid-spring. This impressive variety can survive temperatures as low as 20 FÂș, which makes it a great option for those in colder growing zones or who have shorter growing seasons...or if you just like to garden during the winter time.

The thick, sturdy leaves hold up extremely well to sauces and picketing, which is why it is a popular cabbage in Germany to make sauerkraut or for Coleslaw in the U.S. The larger leaves are sturdy enough to hold your favorite cabbage roll fill.
