Teddy Bear Sunflower seeds
Teddy Bear sunflowers lack the traditional dark center common to most varieties. Instead, the entire base of the bloom is covered in petals, creating a ball of delicate yellow petals. The bright yellow-gold color and plethora of petals not only attract pollinators but helps shade the bees on a hot day. This variety produces double flowers (2 per stem). They will bloom looking like 2 little pom-poms and as they mature and start to form seeds, a dark middle will form. These are ideal to grow in the middle of a raised bed to attract pollinators to the surrounding plants, along borders, or as a magnificent centerpiece in a container or pot. These will grow up to 2-3 feet and about 12-20 inches wide. These prefer full sun, of course, well-draining soil, and moderate nutrient requirements. In addition to bees, these also do extremely well at attracting birds and butterflies. They also make great fresh-cut flowers for bouquets.
