Speckled Roman Tomato seeds (organic)
The Speckled Roman tomato is a striking plum-type tomato that could be considered one of nature's finest masterpieces! This indeterminate heirloom is the product of John Swenson. Although it is a hybrid between the Roman candle tomato, and the banana legs tomato, Swenson used a stabilized version of both to create a permanent variety, hence now it's classified as an heirloom.
These tomatoes have a robust bright red skin nuanced with golden orange streaks. These tomatoes are virtually all flesh. There is very little juice or seeds. They have an intense tomato flavor but they deliver a slight tang with a subtle sweetness. Since these are indeterminate, they will grow and produce all season long until they succumb to frost or disease.
These do well in containers, at least a 5-7 gallon would be necessary. These will mature in about 100-115 days from seed, 85 days from transplanting.
