Golden Bantam 12 Corn seeds
Golden Bantam 12 corn is a classic heirloom that is an improved version of the original Burpees Golden Bantam. Although its predecessor produced enticingly sweet corn cobs, this improved version produces cobs that are longer and will have 12 rows of kernels on each cob (hence the name). Golden Bantam 12 is a fast-maturing variety which makes it ideal for those who may have a shorter growing season. This has been a popular standard variety of corn since the early 20th century. These plants will average 7-8 feet tall and will yield an average of 7-8 ears of sweet corn, loaded with juicy kernels. This is an excellent standard variety if you are looking to grow yellow corn for steaming, roasting, or boiling. Adding a little butter and salt will only complement the sweetness of this variety.
