Texas Early Grano onion seeds
Proudly cultivated in the Lone Star State since 1944, the Texas Early Grano onion is a sweet, white short-day variety. Originating from Valencia, Spain, the Grano onion made its way to the U.S. in 1925. In the 1930s, the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station initiated an onion breeding program, where the Grano underwent trials and was carefully selected for its early maturation and exceptionally sweet flavor. Thus, the Texas Early Grano emerged as a Vidalia-type onion with thin skin and a supremely mild taste, so sweet that it can be enjoyed just like an apple.
