Midnight Nigella seeds

This intense dark purple nigella is a great accent piece to any container, pot, or flower garden arrangement. Each bloom consists of 5 soft, velvety petals. The inner workings of the blooms have several extensions that resemble delicate webbing. The bright green feathery foliage helps to draw attention to the intensity of the dark blossoms. Although these are annuals, they provide generous seed pods towards the end of fall that drops quite a bit of seed.
 
You will continue to see these wherever you plant them as they re-seed easily. These are great attractors for beneficial insects and pollinators. They are also hardy in chilly weather. They will be some of the earliest flowers you will see emerge after winter.
