Sugar Pie Pumpkin Seeds
Sugar pumpkins may appear to be your standard run-of-the-mill variety...until you bake with it. Sugar pumpkins are very sweet and dense with delicious flesh and are less stringy than other varieties of pumpkins. The flesh is also incredibly tender, and the sugars concentrate when baked, almost forming a sweet syrup. These pumpkins have become the standard for baking pies if you are looking to make real pumpkin pies. (If you prepare pumpkin pies with Libby's brand, they are actually selling the Dickinson squash, not pumpkin, interesting fact!) .
Sugar pumpkins are winter squash so they have a long shelf life. They are ideal for baking pumpkin creme rolls, muffins, scones, danish, cookies, etc. If you plan on making more pies, please check our listing for the Winter Luxury pumpkin. This variety is certified organic and has a slightly creamier texture.
